"Well, the first time I could
not remember a lot of this but today I can. Lora Hall was married to Horace Smith and had
one son, George. Something went wrong and Aunt Lora being the rebel of her generation,
like me of mine, came home and made a new start. When she married Hardy Cupit, who had a
family of several children almost as old as Aunt Lora, her mother was so attached to
George that he just stayed with Granny Hall (Lilly).
Aunt Lora was mother to Uncle Hardy's children and Christine
Cupit Varnador was around when I lived in MS the last time, still living in Union Church,
MS. Aunt Lora had four children with Uncle Hardy:
1 Kenny Cupit, retired River Boat Captain, Never married to my knowledge
2 Lena, definitely the older daughter, no other information
3 "Buck", no other name or information as an adult. He was very near
my age and visited Granny Hall's house enough for me to remember.
4 Faye was the baby. I met her when I was in MS around 1978. I am not able to
locate her address, married name and I cannot remember.
After Uncle Hardy died, when the children were still not grown up, Aunt
Lora moved to New Orleans in order to support the family, so the story goes.
I seem to remember a husband before Uncle Mike Faia. Uncle Mike I knew,
and really liked. After his death, Aunt Lora tricked Kenny into driving her to the nursing
home just the way she told me she had it planned. I was able to visit her on a trip back
to MS. Aunt Lora is now dead and I am not in contact with any one at this time.
My sister Joyce will know George Smith's wife and family, they were around while I lived
in CA and on Guam."
